If you want to quit smoking or chewing tobacco, YOU CAN! Sadler Health Center's next Quit Tobacco Program begins soon! Our program is designed after the Mayo Clinic Model and incorporates the most up-to-date cessation information and research. Trained facilitators present the classes. Learn how to quit in a new way, learn about proven treatment options available and coping techniques to help you succeed! There is no cost to attend. Classes consist of 7 one-hour sessions held at New Bloomfield Library over a 7-week period. The program and all participants are provided materials, incentives, and vouchers for free medications or Nicotine Replacements.


Classes start on Wednesday, July 21st. Class times are 3pm and 5:30pm.

Want to QUIT? Sadler CAN help!

Sadler Health Center is offering free tobacco cessation classes starting September 13th at noon and 3 p.m. and September 14th at Noon, 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at CRMC Live Well Center in Carlisle. Our successful program is based on the Mayo Clinic model and will be facilitated by a Tobacco Cessation Specialist. Hundreds of people have successfully quit tobacco -and you can too! Call to join! Registration is required - call 960-4387 or 1-866-SADLER-7 or email healtheducation@sadlerhealth.org. Once enrolled, you'll receive materials, incentives, and nicotine replacements or cessation medication vouchers to start your quit, at no cost! Tobacco Cessation:

This program is for adults living or working in Cumberland &/or Perry County desiring to learn about tobacco addiction and how to successfully quit using tobacco products. Both smokers and smokeless tobacco users alike are encouraged to call for more information or to set up an appointment or to join a group!

All adult and college cessation classes are offered at no-cost and also have free nicotine replacements and voucher assistance for cessation prescription medications for each participant in the Quit Tobacco Program. Adult classes and one-on-one appointments are scheduled in various locations in both counties. Please call for details and to speak with a Cessation Specialist today! All college cessation classes are presented on-site at the college.

On-site Business Cessation Services:

Businesses within Cumberland & Perry County can have Sadler Health Center's Cessation Program brought on-site to assist their employees quit tobacco. Call 960-4344 for additional details.

Teen Tobacco Education/Cessation Services:

Sadler Health Center promotes on-site tobacco education and cessation services for Middle and High School students in the Cumberland & Perry County region. The program for youth is specifically designed to help teens quit tobacco and may be offered in a school or community setting. Any school interested in this no-cost assistance should contact 960-4344.

Youth Programs are offered at no cost to student or the school district and are presented on-site at the school during regular school hours or as necessary at an off-site location near the school.

Clean Air for Healthy Children Program:

The Clean Air for Healthy Children Program, administered by the PA Chapter of The American Academy of Pediatrics and funded by the PA State Dept. of Health is a training program on smoking cessation counseling open to Physician or Dental practices in Cumberland and Perry County. This no-cost training program is intended to increase the number of clinicians who routinely counsel tobacco-users to quit, increase cessation attempts in patients, & reduce the proportion of children who are regularly exposed to tobacco smoke pollution. Clean Air Trainings are provided on-site in a "Lunch & Learn" setting to assist the staff in the 5 A's Intervention Training and how to encourage or speak to someone in a discreet manner about quitting tobacco. Excellent cessation brochures & materials, training, and lunch are provided at no cost to the practice. Call 960-4344 for additional details or to schedule a training for your staff.

"Asthma"Breathe Well, Live Well is an adult asthma management program from the American Lung Assoc.

The program can help you control your asthma and reduce symptoms and that means you can enjoy more activities! Breathe Well, Live Well is for small groups — we encourage participants to bring an "asthma partner" along to the program.

The program includes telephone orientation, groups workshops, follow-ups and topics that will help you understand your asthma and how to breathe easier. Topics include communicating with your health care provider, early warning signs of an asthma episode, recognizing and controlling triggers and symptoms, how to use a peak flow meter and spacer, making an asthma action plan, etc. All participants will receive valuable information, a peak flow meter and spacer, and workbooks at no cost. Refreshments will be served.
